Jean Garcia and Angelu De Leon name the actresses they admire

Jean Garcia and Angelu De Leon may be seasoned actresses in their own right, but improving their craft and taking notes from their peers do not stop.

On Thursday's "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," the Kapuso actresses were asked by Tito Boy if they also watch other kontrabidas and actors in general to learn from them.

Jean and Angelu currently play as kontrabidas in GMA Primtime shows "Widows' War" and "Pulang Araw," respectively.

Jean shared that although she's familiar with being a kontrabida, she still likes to watch other villains to see how they attack their roles and how she can change up her portrayals.

"Oh yes kailangan pa rin, Kuya Boy, talaga eh kasi makakakuha ka pa rin sa kanila hindi ba, like ako whether local or foreign kailangan talaga kasi para maiba," said Jean.

"By watching these kontrabidas dun ka makakakuha, 'Ay pwede kong gawin to, ay ito nag-work sa kaniya, pwedeng ganito. So, aaralin mo na lang..." she added.

Jean is currently watching the TV drama series "The Perfect Couple," which stars Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman. Nicole plays the role of the rich and unbearable novelist Greer Garrison Winbury, who Jean finds similarities with her character, the matriarch Aurora Palacios, in "Widows' War."

"Napakaganda niya. Medyo pareho siya na mayaman, tapos may murder din, suspense din siya and all, so sabi ko, 'Galing talaga ni Nicole," she said.

Angelu, on the other hand, said she has experienced being the protagonist and antagonist throughout her showbiz career.

She named veteran actress Celia Rodriguez as someone she admires, particularly because of her masterful portrayal of the classic kontrabida.

"Naalala ko pinapanood ko sila, how they do what they did to me, so like si tita Celia Rodriguez. I mean, you would look up to her and you would say, 'Oh my God, pag ako naging kontrabida, gusto kong maging katulad niya,' kasi epitome talaga siya ng isang kontrabida," said Angelu.

In the "Fast Talk" episode, Jean and Angelu also shared about their fears when they both took a break from showbiz to focus on motherhood.

Jean stars as Aurora Palacios, the mother of Rafael Rosell's character (Paco) and the cruel mother-in-law of Bea Alonzo (Sam) in "Widows' War."

Angelu, on the other hand, plays Carmela, the wife of vaudeville actor and theater owner Julio Borromeo (Epy Quizon), in "Pulang Araw."

"Pulang Araw" and "Widows' War" air from Mondays to Fridays at 8 p.m. and 8:50 p.m., respectively, on GMA Prime.
