AiAi Delas Alas, Arnell Ignacio recall tumbling at a sing-along bar in the ‘80s for P1,000
Before becoming TV personalities, AiAi Delas Alas and Arnell Ignacio worked as sing-along masters at a bar in Quezon City. This was back in the '80s, in Timog to be exact.
On Wednesday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” they were asked what was their most unforgettable experience during their Music Box days.
“‘Yung pinag-tumbling ka (When they had you do stunts),” Arnell told AiAi.
“Ay oo, oo! May lasing na mama, sabi sa kaniya, ‘Arnell, ‘yung kasama mo, pag-tumbling-in mo nga ‘yan.’ Pinagta-tumbling ako,” AiAi said.
[Yes! There was a drunk customer who said, 'Arnell, please get your companion to do a tumble.]
Arnell said they were offered P1,000 to do it.
“Sahod namin noon, tigtu-200 lang. Siya, 250,” he said. “Sabi ko, ‘Huy, P1,000. Tumumbling ka na.’”
[We made P200-P250. I said, P1000? AiAi, go do it.]“Lahat kami nag-tumbling (We all did it),” Arnell said.
“Siyempre ama, lahat na gagawin namin ‘no. Ganun talaga (Of course, dad, we will do everything. That's how things are),” AiAi said.
AiAi is set to return as judge of GMA Network's singing competition "The Clash," along with Christian Bautista and Lani Misalucha.
"The Clash" Season 6 will start airing on September 14 at 7:15 p.m.
