Nadine Samonte makes acting comeback in new series 'Forever Young' with Euwenn Mikaell

Nadine Samonte is set to make her big acting comeback with the upcoming series "Forever Young."

According to Lhar Santiago's report on "24 Oras," Tuesday, the Sparkle star will be starring in the new series with "Firefly" child star Euwenn Mikaell.

Nadine and Euwenn will play mother and son in the afternoon show, which will take viewers on an emotional ride.

"Sobrang natuwa ako sa GMA kasi nabigyan ako ng chance na mailabas ko 'yung acting ko," Nadine said. "Masasabi ko dito talagang binigay ko 'yung best ko talaga kasi parang, sabi ko, 'This is my comeback.'"

The homegrown Kapuso talent also enjoined fans to support "Forever Young" because it's a series with a heartwarming tale.

"They really need to watch, it's nakakatouch. Iba talaga 'yung bonding namin and connection namin ni Euwenn, malalim," she said.

She also praised the award-winning child actor, who she said can be quite proactive on set.

"Si Euwenn ang direktor namin dito. Minsan siya ang director, siya yung lapel, lahat siya na," she said, laughing. "Alam mo 'yun lahat pabiro pero iba talaga yung isip ni Euwenn, hindi siya isip bata eh, sobrang mature niya mag-isip."

While Nadine makes her comeback with "Forever Young," the project, on the other hand, will be Euwenn's first TV series.

"Forever Young" follows the story of Rambo (Euwenn), a 25-year-old trapped in the body of a 10-year-old due to panhypopituitarism, a rare medical condition.

Other cast members include Michael de Mesa, Eula Valdez, Alfred Vargas, Chanda Romero, Althea Ablan, Yasser Marta, Matt Lozano, Bryce Eusebio, and James Blanco.

"Forever Young" will premiere on GMA Afternoon Prime in October.

Nadine and Euwenn previously worked together for an episode of "Dapat Ganito, Kapuso," a campaign comprising seven enthralling short stories that highlight different Filipino core values.

Nadine was among the avengers of "StarStruck" Season 1, which debuted on GMA Network in October 2003.

Last September, Nadine inked her contract with Sparkle GMA Artist Center anew. She was among the Kapuso celebs who welcomed "It's Showtime" to the main GMA channel this year by gracing the stage during its premiere.

Meanwhile, Euwenn recently starred alongside veteran actor Joel Torre in the Netflix film "Lolo and the Kid," which debuted in August.

In May this year, Euwenn won Best Child Actor at FAMAS Awards 2024 for his role as Tonton in "Firefly," which opened in cinemas last December as part of the official entries of the Metro Manila Film Festival.
