Lani Misalucha, Christian Bautista weigh in on Filipino singers' struggles to achieve global success
Despite the huge pool of musical talent in the Philippines, why do Filipino artists still struggle to achieve global success?
Veteran singers and "The Clash" judges Christian Bautista and Lani Misalucha answered this question on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" on Monday.
For the Asia's Nightingale, the lack of identifiable physical traits hinders Pinoys from succeeding internationally with our own "brand."
"Talagang 'yung identity.
Christian, meanwhile, believes that it is due to the lack of financial support to the artists which keeps them from breaking into the international scene.
Ang pinakaimportante din talaga is investment or financial support," the Asia's Romantic Balladeer said.
"Halimbawa sa Oscars 'di ba? Nila-lobby mo 'yung mga movie mo. Nangangampanya ka. So clearly, napakarami nating magagaling na talent at kailangan talagang the whole country has to really invest at ilagay sila kung saan-saan," he added.
Lani and Christian are set to return as judges of GMA Network's singing competition "The Clash," along with AiAi Delas Alas.
"The Clash" Season 6 will start airing on September 14 at 7:15 p.m.
