Kiray Celis wins Breakthrough Performance award at Wu Wei Taipei International Film Festival

Kiray Celis has won another international award!

On Instagram, the Sparkle actress shared some snaps of her holding the trophy of the Breakthrough Performance award given by Wu Wei Taipei International Film Festival for her role in the movie "Malditas in Maldives."

In her post, Kiray said she never thought of winning another international award after her first win at the Jinseo Arigato International Film Festival in Japan in May.

"Nung nanalo ako sa Japan ng first international award ko, sobrang thankful na ko! Ni hindi na pumasok sa isip ko na sana may kasunod pa. Pero eto ako... nanalo ako sa Wu Wei Taipei International Film Festival ng 'Breakthrough performance' sa movie namin na 'Malditas in Maldives!' Waaaaah!" she said.

Kiray also thanked all the people behind the film including its director Njel De Mesa.

Aside from bagging the Breakthrough Performance award, the movie also received the Best Picture plum.

In the movie, Kiray played the role of Padma, one of the three vloggers stuck on an island in the Maldives.

Kiray recently starred in the GMA Prime series "My Guardian Alien" starring Marian Rivera and Gabby Concepcion.
