SB19's Pablo admits facing doubts due to bashing: 'Tama ba na may humahanga sa amin?'

Being a public figure means being subject to criticism, and SB19 is no stranger to that.

On Monday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," the P-pop kings opened up about the bashing and criticism they have received from other people.

According to Ken, one of the worst bashing they have received was people criticizing them for their looks, calling them "ugly."

"Pero minsan nagiging personal na nga. Umaabot na sa puwede mo silang i-demanda," Josh said. "Pero sa amin naman, I mean I get their points. Mayroon sigurong may nagsabi sa kanila na ibang kampo, or may umaway sa kanila."

While he understands people's point of view, Josh thinks that it's not good to spread hate in social media.

Meanwhile, Stell said he didn't understand where the hate for their group came from.

"Naririnig ko minsan sa mga tao na sobrang forced daw po ng hate," he said.

Despite the bashing, Stell said that he and his fellow members just choose to ignore the hate towards them.

"For me, 'yung mga ganoong klaseng bashing 'di na po namin pinapansin and hinahayaan ko na lang kung doon sila masaya. At least kung masaya sila doon, kami 'yong dahilan bat sila masaya. At least di ba? 'Yon naman 'yung goal eh, magpalaganap ng saya," he said.

But that's not the case for Pablo, who didn't take the criticism lightly.

"Mayroong time talaga in my life na kumakapit  na lang ako kasi nandoon silang [apat]," he said.

According to him, he questioned himself and their group's purpose in every action he made.

"Tama ba na may humahanga sa amin? So kung ganon na ang tingin ng mga tao sa amin, mapapkwestyon ka sa sarili mo kung karangal-rangal ba 'tong ginagawa ko? Dapat ko ba ito ikahiya? Tama ba 'yong ginagawa ko? Or binibigyan ko lang ng…siguro masama 'yong inaambag ko sa lipunan. Ganoon po ba?" Pablo said.

"So umabot sa point na parang 'yung rejection 'yung sariling life mo na ang kinukwestyon mo. Parang ganon," he added.

SB19 debuted in 2018. Composed of Pablo, Josh, Ken, Stell, and Justin, the group is known for their songs "GENTO," "MAPA," and "Kalakal."

The group and its fandom A'TIN recently won the Billboard Fan Army Face-Off 2024, bagging the honors for the second year in a row.

SB19 is set to release a documentary film about their "Pagtatag!" era in cinemas from August 28 to September 1.
