Dennis Trillo makes first appearance in 'Pulang Araw'

Dennis Trillo finally made his "Pulang Araw" debut!

On Wednesday's episode, his character, Lt. Col. Yuta Saitoh, arrived in Manila via ship as the declaration of war nears.

He was greeted at the docks by Akio Watanabe (Jay Ortega), who is working for the Japanese imperial army.

"Naiinip na akong sakupin ang maka-Amerikanong bansang ito!" he said in Nihongo.

The character is Dennis's first major kontrabida role, which he said is a dream come true for him. The Kapuso Drama King learned Japanese to play Yuta.

"Pulang Araw," which stars Barbie Forteza, Sanya Lopez, David Licauco, and Alden Richards, is heading to World War II in the coming episodes.

The series airs weeknights on GMA Prime at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." It is also streaming on Netflix.
