'Pulang Araw' cast and crew take on 'Emergency Paging Dr. Beat' dance challenge

How do the “Pulang Araw” cast and crew let off steam during their taping days? Well, they dance!

The team of GMA Network’s historical series did their take on the viral “Emergency Paging Dr. Beat” challenge, wherein netizens groove to the pop song with budots-style dance moves.

Spotted in the video were series stars Barbie Forteza, Sanya Lopez, David Licauco, and Angelu De Leon.

In a previous interview, the lead cast said they turn to comfort food and distancing themselves from the set to unwind after heavy scenes. Series antagonist Dennis Trillo said he watches funny videos to get out of his character as a fierce Japanese imperial army officer.

“Pulang Araw” traces the intertwined lives of four childhood friends: Adelina (Barbie), Teresita (Sanya), Hiroshi (David), and Eduardo (Alden Richards). As war ravages their homeland and Japanese forces occupy the Philippines, their dreams, friendships, and loyalties are tested, leading them on a journey of self-discovery and resilience.  

The series airs weeknights on GMA Prime at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." It is also streaming on Netflix.
