Angelu De Leon marks 29th anniversary of 'T.G.I.S.' with throwback photo
“T.G.I.S.” just turned 29!
Lead star Angelu De Leon got fans nostalgic as she commemorated the milestone with a throwback photo on Instagram.
The actress shared a photo with her castmates Bobby Andrews, Raven Villanueva, Onemig Bondoc, Red Sternberg, and Michael John Flores all wearing “T.G.I.S.” shirts.
“29! Thank God It’s Sabado,” Angelu said in her caption.
“Group hug,” she added.
Fans turned sentimental in the comments section.
“Ang kabataan ko!!! Di kompleto ang Sabado pag di nakapanood ng ‘T.G.I.S.,’” a fan said.
“Omg... I remember nung grade 4 ako, ikaw yung cover ng mga notebooks ko,” another fan said.
Supporters are also hoping for a “T.G.I.S.” reunion.
“T.G.I.S.,” a coming-of-age afternoon series, premiered on GMA Network on August 12, 1995. The successful show had more than 200 episodes and the film “T.G.I.S.: The Movie” premiered in 1997. The show also turned Angelu and Bobby into a popular loveteam.
Angelu is one of the cast members of “Pulang Araw.” She plays Carmela, the wife of vaudeville actor and theater owner Julio Borromeo (Epy Quizon). She is the mother of Teresita (Sanya Lopez) and treats Adelina (Barbie Forteza) poorly.
"Pulang Araw" airs weeknights on GMA Prime at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." It is also streaming on Netflix.
