‘The Acolyte’ star Manny Jacinto to play Lindsay Lohan's husband in ‘Freaky Friday’ sequel
“The Acolyte” star Manny Jacinto is gearing up for another movie!
According to Entertainment Weekly, the Filipino-Canadian actor is set to play the husband of Lindsay Lohan’s character Anna in the sequel of “Freaky Friday” titled “Freakier Friday.” His character's name is yet to be revealed.
In its report, Entertainment Weekly quoted Jamie Lee Curtis, Lohan's onscreen mother, saying “Manny plays Lindsay Lohan's husband in the Freaky Friday sequel.”
“Manny is lovely, so funny,” Lohan also said.
Previously, it was announced that a sequel for the hit 2003 movie is in the works with Curtis and Lohan reprising their roles as Tess and Anna respectively.
The on-screen mother-daughter duo also shared a photo of themselves posing in front of their trailers, sitting in front of their opposite doors.
Chad Michael Murray, who played Anna’s love interest in the first movie, is also set to reprise his role as Jake in the sequel.
According to Glamour, “Freaky Friday 2” sees Tess Coleman (Jamie) getting her wish of having grandchildren. Anna Coleman (Lindsay) now has a teen daughter named Harper. Harper tries to stop the wedding between Anna and British restaurateur Eric, as she does not get along with Eric’s daughter.
“Freaky Friday,” followed Tessa and Anna who argued often. When they switched bodies, they learned more about each other and their relationship.
Meanwhile, Manny plays the villain role of Qimir in “Star Wars: The Acolyte.” He is also known for his role as Jason Mendoza on "The Good Place" and for voicing Maliksi in the English language voice cast of Netflix's "Trese," among others.
