‘Pulang Araw’ cast and crew surprise Sanya Lopez on her birthday

Sanya Lopez was showered with love on her birthday!

According to Nelson Canlas’ report on “24 Oras,” Friday, the “Pulang Araw” cast and crew surprised the Sparkle star on the show’s set.

“'Yung family ng ‘Pulang Araw’ alam niyo, iba talaga sila magbigay ng sorpresa,” Sanya said. “Tsaka ang bongga kasi may pa-banda.”

Among Sanya’s co-stars present on her special day were Barbie Forteza, Derrick Monasterio, and Sef Cadayona.

“Andyan ka na Sanya, ‘wag mo na pabayaan 'yan and deserve mo lahat ng mga dumadating sa buhay mo ngayon. ‘Yun lang,” Derrick said.

“Sanya, I'm so, so proud of all your achievements. I'm so happy for you. Ang wish ko sayo is that you keep your feet on the ground, and that you stay healthy dahil kailangan natin ‘yan sa ating trabaho. And ayon, sana palagi tayong masaya sa set,” Barbie said.

“Pulang Araw” traces the intertwined lives of four childhood friends: Adelina (Barbie), Teresita (Sanya), Hiroshi (David Licauco), and Eduardo (Alden Richards). As war ravages their homeland and Japanese forces occupy the Philippines, their dreams, friendships, and loyalties are tested, leading them on a journey of self-discovery and resilience. 

"Pulang Araw" airs weeknights on GMA Prime at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." It is also streaming on Netflix.
