Mon Confiado slams 'copypasta' post about him: 'Joke pero nakakasira ng tao'
Mon Confiado did not let pass a "copypasta" post that fabricated a story about him.
On Facebook, the actor slammed content creator Ileiad, who has over 21,000 followers on Facebook, for claiming to have had a bad encounter with him at a grocery store.
"Tama pa ba ang ginagawa ng mga content creator na ito?" Mon wrote. "Gumawa ng story using my name & my photo… na meet daw nya ako sa grocery at magpapa picture daw sya pero dinuro duro ko daw sya sa mukha at nakita nya na hindi ko binayaran ang 15 Milky Way Choco Bars na kinuha ko… at pinagsisigawan ko daw ang cashier ng grocery."
Mon said he messaged the creator directly, and shared a screenshot of the conversation. Ileiad had apologized and said he did not intend to "tarnish your image in any way." He also agreed that "not everyone will understand it."
However, Mon was less than pleased. He continued to confront Ileiad, and threatened to take legal action.
"Pinapalabas pa nito na magnanakaw ako," Mon said in his post. "Nung sinita ko, joke daw ito at ito ay “Copypasta” at biglang nilagyan ng 'disclaimer' ang post nya pero huli na."
"Joke at my expense? Joke pero nakakasira ng tao?" he continued. "Bakit ka magjo joke sakin? Close ba tayo? Parang sobra na itong mga ito ah at para makakuha lang ng mga likes kahit makasagasa sila ng tao. Tapos sasabihin Joke."
Mon also said that he received many messages asking if the story was true.
"Of course, Sabi ko hindi yan totoo. Never happened. At hindi ako ganung tao. At may pagka mayabang pa itong Ileiad na ito… nung sinabi ko idedemanda ko sya dahil ayaw pa nya tanggalin ang post nya. Threat daw ba ito? Grabe itong taong ito!"
As of writing, Ileiad had already taken down his post about Mon.
Regarding the situation, he said, "Man, I thought you're a cool guy."
"What do you mean I'm playing victim? You guys are cornballs," he added.
He also described the situation as "crazy" and posted an "official apology" to Mon.
"My deepest and sincerest apologies to critically-acclaimed actor Mon Confiado. As requested, I have taken down the vile and misleading post off the page and I will only be making copypastas about myself from now on," he said.
"And as penance, I will be eating only Filipino-branded cornballs for lunch and perhaps even for dinner," he added.
