Judy Ann Santos, Iza Calzado, more celebs pay tribute to Mother Lily

Celebrities have paid tribute to Mother Lily Monteverde, the long-time matriarch of Regal Entertainment, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 84.

Judy Ann Santos was among those who remembered the iconic film producer, posting a photo of them and a heartfelt message of farewell.

The actress said all her "firsts" in the show business industry were under Mother Lily.

"My first teleserye 'Kaming Mga Ulila' and the only producer na sumugal sa amin ni Gladys [Reyes] para gawin ang pelikulang 'Sana Naman,' and the rest is history," Judy Ann wrote.

"Ginawa mong makulay ang buhay ng maraming tao sa industriyang ito na minahal mo ng sobra sobra, and for that I will forever be grateful for your trust and love," she added.

Meanwhile, Iza Calzado expressed her appreciation for all the projects she got to work on because of Mother Lily.

"You were kind to me and supportive of me, and I will carry that in my heart," Iza said.

"I will always remember you with a bright smile on your face, either playing the piano or stretching and moving around, saying it is the key to staying young," she added.

For Maricel Soriano, Mother Lily was a remarkable person in showbiz who treated her artists as her own children.

"Talagang through the years, napatunayan mo sa amin na mahal na mahal mo kami at ang turing mo sa amin ay mga anak," Maricel said.

"Mamimiss ko ang lahat ng iyon and most of all mamimiss kita, Mother!" she added.

Vilma Santos kept her tribute short and sweet by thanking the late producer.

"Our condolences and prayers. Rest in peace," she wrote. "I love you, Mother Lily. Salamat po!"

For "Regal baby" Billy Crawford, he remembers Mother Lily as "strict, but always willing to help actors and actresses reach their dreams."

"May you rest in peace, Mother," Billy wrote. "From your regal baby."

"Condolence to the whole family," he added. "Thanks, Mother Lily."

Mother Lily's wake begins on Monday, August 5, 3:30 p.m. at 38 Valencia Events Place in Quezon City. She will be interred on Saturday, August 10, at The Heritage Park in Taguig City.
