Dingdong Dantes praises Aidan Veneracion's acting in 'Pulang Araw'
Dingdong Dantes has nothing but all-out support for his former co-star, Aidan Veneracion, in his new role in “Pulang Araw.”
The young Sparkle actor posted behind-the-scenes clips from the historical drama’s pilot episode on Instagram. Aidan had a very memorable scene within minutes of the first episode, wherein his character Mario died tragically and said some final words to Eduardo, played by Alden Richards.
Dingdong, Aidan’s co-star in “Royal Blood” and on-screen father, expressed his admiration for him in the comments.
“Husay mo. I am so proud of you,” the Kapuso Primetime King said.
Aidan replied, “Thank you so much po, Tito/Dad @dongdantes!! Happy birthday po ulit and hope to see you soon.”
“Pulang Araw” traces the intertwined lives of four childhood friends: Adelina (Barbie Forteza), Teresita (Sanya Lopez), Hiroshi (David Licauco), and Eduardo (Alden Richards). As war ravages their homeland and Japanese forces occupy the Philippines, their dreams, friendships, and loyalties are tested, leading them on a journey of self-discovery and resilience.
“Pulang Araw,” made a strong debut on Netflix via www.netflix.com/PulangAraw on July 26, and was a trending topic on X. The historical drama is on the No. 1 spot of the platform’s list of "Top 10 TV Shows in the Philippines Today."
The show is now airing on GMA Prime.
