Benjamin Alves on Mike Tan's role in 'Widows' War': 'We had a good laugh about it'

We might have seen the last of Basil Palacios in "Widows' War," but there is still more to be revealed about his character and the mystery surrounding his death.

Before Basil suddenly collapsed during his birthday party, two new actors appeared: Lianne Valentin and Mike Tan.

Lianne plays Beatrice Royales, her character in "Royal Blood" who is making a crossover in the series. She tells George, Basil's wife, that she and Basil "fooled around before." 

Mike's character is yet to be introduced properly, but Benjamin Alves, who plays Basil, seemingly gave a hint on Mike's relationship with his character.

"When I found out that Mike Tan was in the cast I gave him a call personally, we had a good laugh about it. 'Yun na lang sasabihin ko," he told Nelson Canlas in "24 Oras" on Thursday.

"Kasi galing kami sa magkaaway. He was our kontrabida sa 'Artikulo 247.' And he was my roommate there. We had a good laugh," he explained.

From enemies, what could be the relationship of Benjamin's and Mike's characters this time? Does Mike's role have something to do with Basil's death? What about Basil's alleged mistress? We can't wait for the revelations!

Directed by Zig Dulay, it is in a spinoff of Kapuso murder-mystery series "Widows' Web" and "Royal Blood."

"Widows' War" airs weeknights on GMA Prime at 8:50 p.m. after "Pulang Araw."
