Niño Muhlach on Sandro complaint: I'll talk after criminal case filed

Jojo Nones, Richard Cruz’s legal counsel issues statement on alleged incident with Sandro Muhlach

Niño Muhlach said he will address the issue involving his son Sandro after filing the criminal case on the incident.

“Tinatapos lang po namin i-file criminal case then I’ll talk,” he told GMA Integrated News in a text message.

Sandro filed a formal complaint before the GMA Network against Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz, two independent contractors, after rumors spread online about the son of an actor who was allegedly violated by two men.

“Our clients are deeply saddened by the serious allegations hurled against them circulating on social media. And though these allegations do not mirror the true accounts of the event, we would like to reserve the right to respond in a proper forum when we receive a copy of the formal complaint,” said Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque.

“For the meantime, we urge the public to respect the investigation being conducted on this case and we advise people who have no personal knowledge of the incident to refrain from posting baseless defamatory allegations and therefore unfairly subjecting both parties to publicity trial.”

Previously, Niño and his wife, Dianne Tupaz, made cryptic posts on social media amid the rumors surrounding their son.

“Inumpisahan n’yo, tatapusin ko,” the former child actor wrote in all-caps with a black background.

Tupaz similarly wrote an all-caps message on her own Facebook account.

Nakaka nginig kayo ng laman!” she said.

Angela Muhlach, Niño’s sister, also posted on Instagram Stories: “Our family will be the one to break the injustices all the other artists are facing! This has to stop. We will fight for justice.”

In its statement, GMA Network said it had already initiated its own investigation before receiving Sandro’s complaint in recognition of the seriousness of the alleged incident.

“Respecting Sandro’s request for confidentiality, the investigating body will withhold all details of the formal investigation until its conclusion,” the statement read.

“The Network assures the public and all stakeholders of its commitment to conducting this investigation with the highest standards of fairness and impartiality.”
