Angelu De Leon hopes to talk to Claudine Barretto following controversy

Angelu De Leon was previously involved in controversy with Claudine Barretto after the latter said she doesn’t want to work again with her fellow actress.

On Thursday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Angelu guested sat down with the King of Talk, who recalled the incident and added how Claudine eventually said she regretted saying such a thing.

According to Tito Boy, Claudine also wants to talk to Angelu.

He asked Angelu if they already had the chance to talk about it and reconciled, but Angelu said, “Wala pang pagkakataon."

"Umaasa pa rin ako na dadating ‘yung panahon na ‘yon,” she continued.

Angelu and Claudine were batchmates in a youth-oriented variety show back in the 1990s. 

Angelu is now starring in “Pulang Araw” as Carmela Borromeo.

The series traces the intertwined lives of four childhood friends: Adelina (Barbie Forteza), Teresita (Sanya Lopez), Hiroshi (David Licauco), and Eduardo (Alden Richards). As war ravages their homeland and Japanese forces occupy the Philippines, their dreams, friendships, and loyalties are tested, leading them on a journey of self-discovery and resilience.  

The main antagonist of the series is Col. Yuta Saitoh, played by Dennis Trillo. He is a Japanese imperial army officer whose mission is to conquer the Philippines. He will have feelings for Teresita.

The show made a strong debut on Netflix on July 26 and was a trending topic on X. The historical drama is on the No.1 spot on the platform’s list of "Top 10 TV Shows in the Philippines Today."

"Pulang Araw" airs weeknights on GMA Prime at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras."
