'Pulang Araw' tops Netflix's 'Top 10 TV Shows in the Philippines Today'

Shortly after " Pulang Araw " released its first episode on Netflix, it instantly made waves on the streaming platform.

As seen on Netflix, GMA Network's newest historical drama is on no. 1 of the "Top 10 TV Shows in the Philippines Today."

It was followed by the Korean drama "Sweet Home Season 2" Starring Lee Do Hyun and "Eve" starring Seo Yea Ji.

" Pulang Araw " made its Netflix debut on Friday evening and became a trending topic on X.

The show traces the intertwined lives of four childhood friends: Adelina ( Barbie Forteza ), Teresita ( Sanya Lopez ), Hiroshi ( David Licauco ), and Eduardo ( Alden Richards ) before and during World War II.

The main antagonist of the series is Col. Yuta Saitoh, played by Dennis Trillo . He is a Japanese imperial army officer whose mission is to conquer the Philippines.

" Pulang Araw " will have its television premiere on July 29.
