Ruru Madrid on MMFF entry 'Green Bones' with Dennis Trillo: 'Feeling ko na-manifest siya'

Now that "Black Rider" is coming to an end, Ruru Madrid is setting his sights to his next big project: the Metro Manila Film Festival 2024 entry "Green Bones" with Dennis Trillo and Sofia Pablo.

On Thursday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," the Primetime Action Hero said he thought about starring in an MMFF entry last year when he saw the Best Picture winner "Firefly."

True enough, it came true.

"I was watching 'Firefly' at sinabi ko sa sarili ko na, 'Feeling ko next year.' Naramdaman ko," he said. "Alam ko next year meron ako MMFF. So parang feeling ko na-manifest siya."

Ruru said he received the happy news as he was wrapping up taping for "Black Rider."

"It's an honor na makatrabaho ko muli si Kuya Dennis sa isang pelikula at isang pangarap na naman po ang natupad," he said.

"Green Bones" will be helmed by Zig Dulay, who also directed "Firefly." It is based on an original story by JC Rubio, senior documentary manager of GMA Public Affairs.

The screenplay is written by National Artist Ricky Lee and MMFF 2023 Best Screenplay winner Anj Atienza.

"Green Bones" is one of the first five finalists of MMFF 2024. The other finalists are "And the breadwinner is…," "Strange Frequencies: Haunted Hospital," "Himala: Isang Musikal," and "The Kingdom."
