Marian Rivera shares how they achieved her bruised look for 'Balota'

Marian Rivera just shared a new video of herself getting ready for “Balota” on Facebook

In the reel, the Kapuso Primetime Queen shows the process behind her bruised look for the film.

“Pasilip ko sa inyo kung paano ako nag ka sugat sugat!” Marian wrote in the caption.

She also matched the short video with Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song.”

Balota” also stars Wil Ashley, Royce Cabrera, Raheel Bhyria, Sassa Gurl, Esnyr, Nico Antonio, Donna Cariaga, Joel Saracho, Sue Prado, Mae Paner, and Gardo Versoza.

It follows a land-grabbing tycoon and a former male sexy actor who are locked in a tight race for the mayoral seat of a small town.

Marian will play the role of Emmy, a teacher who serves in the election. Emmy runs into the wilderness with a ballot box, the last copy of the election results, when violence in their town erupts.

It is directed by award-winning filmmaker Kip Oebanda, and will screen at the Cinemalaya Film Festival from August 2 to 11.

Previous photos and the teaser video showed Marian holding a bright yellow ballot box.

Sassa Gurl also previously shared scenes of a protest and a conversation with Marian.

Marian said that her fulfillment for work returned because of the project.

"Hindi ko mapaliwanag 'yung pakiramdam ko after kong matapos 'yung balota, parang palagi kong sinasabi lalo na sa asawa ko na, alam mo 'yung antagal ko sa showbiz pero parang bumalik ulit 'yung fulfillment ko sa sarili ko sa paggawa ng trabaho," she said. —Carby Basina/JCB, GMA Integrated News
