GMA Gala 2024: Michelle Dee is a tough act to follow on the red carpet, so Rufa Mae decided to just have fun

Michelle Dee is a tough act to follow on any red carpet, what with her svelte figure, her beauty queen walk, and her attention-getting fashion statements. At the GMA Gala 2024, it was even harder thanks to her gorgeous new hairdo.

So Rufa Mae Quinto decided to enjoy her moment. On the red carpet of the recently concluded GMA gala, the Kapuso commedienne was next in line to the Miss Universe Philippines 2023, who once again made a statement in her Francis Libiran strapless dress that came with a tulle skirt. She even had a new 'do that made her among the evening's head-turners.

In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) by GMA Public Affairs, Rufa Mae could be seen playfully trying to mimic the beauty queen's elegant strides. She would strike poses, over-extend her legs to showcase her black dress' slit, and wave to the press, who encouraged Rufa Mae returning her signature "go go go" chant back to her.

"‘Yung ‘di nagpakabog si Rufa Mae Quinto kay Michelle Dee sa #GMAGala2024," GMA Public Affairs wrote in the caption of the video that has already generated more 60K views on the platform.

The GMA Gala 2024 gathered some 1,000 luminaries, including showbiz celebrities, news personalities, internet stars, beauty queens, politicians, as well as some surprise guests for a truly star-studded event.   

It was at the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Manila Hotel on Saturday, where Alden Richards, Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes, and Heart Evangelista took home awards.
