Ruru Madrid wants to star in an action film after 'Black Rider'

Ruru Madrid is happy with the success of “Black Rider” and hopes to have more action-heavy projects in the future.

The Kapuso Primetime Action Hero previously said that the teleserye was his dream project as he had always wanted to be an action star.

But now that the show is nearing its end, Ruru said at a media conference, “Ngayon na nakagawa po ‘ko ng mga action-serye, hopefully, makagawa naman ako ng isang action film.”

Ruru added that he also hopes to direct and produce his own project one day.

“But you know, ayoko pa pong isipin ‘yan sa ngayon kasi I just want to focus on everything na pinagkakatiwala po sa ‘kin ng network at kung ano po ‘yung maiiaambag ko dun sa mga proyektong ‘yon,” he added.

Aside from these goals, the Kapuso actor hopes to continue inspiring the youth and aspiring stars.

In “Black Rider,” Ruru stars as delivery rider Elias Guerrero, who turned into an action hero who helps those in need, and fights for justice for his family and community.

The action-drama series also tackles themes of social class, and how the rich use their power to challenge the lives of the poor.

“Black Rider” won a Bronze medal from the New York Festivals TV & Film. It is the only entertainment program from GMA Network that was recognized. New York Festivals TV & Film also awarded six documentaries and special reports from GMA Public Affairs and GMA News. Ruru dedicated the win to unsung heroes.

Joining the star-studded cast are Yassi Pressman, Jon Lucas, Raymond Bagatsing, Rio Locsin, Herlene Budol, Empoy, and many more.

Michelle Dee, Angeli Khang, Isko Moreno, Joaquin Domagoso, and more also appeared on the show.

“Black Rider” begins its finale week on July 22 on GMA Prime. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
