Ruru Madrid thankful that ‘Black Rider’ character inspires kids: ‘I’m living my dream right now’
Ruru Madrid is filled with gratitude for how his “Black Rider” character makes a positive impact on the younger generation.
In the action-drama series, Ruru stars as delivery rider Elias Guerrero, who turned into an action hero who helps those in need.
In a media conference for the show’s finale week, the Kapuso Primetime Action Hero said he is thankful that Elias has been able to inspire the youth.
While his "goal is to entertaining people," Ruru said "gusto ko palagi akong may naiiwang marka sa kanila, at ‘yun ‘yung inspirasyon na nais kong ipamahagi sa kanila.”
According to Ruru, this is important for him, because he used to be in their shoes before finding success in showbiz.
“Dati, pangarap ko lang ‘yan,” he said.
Ruru added, “I’m living my dream right now.
In the action-packed GMA Prime series, Elias fights for justice for his family and community.
“Black Rider” also tackles themes of social class, and how the rich use their power to challenge the lives of the poor.
“Black Rider” is among the seven GMA programs that won an award from the New York Festivals this year, taking home a Bronze medal. Ruru dedicated the win to unsung heroes.
The program boasts of a star-studded cast which includes Yassi Pressman, Jon Lucas, Raymond Bagatsing, Rio Locsin, Herlene Budol, Empoy, as well as South Korean oppa Kim Ji Soon.
Michelle Dee, Angeli Khang, Isko Moreno, Joaquin Domagoso, and more also appeared on the show.
“Black Rider” begins its finale week on July 22 on GMA Prime.
