Direk Mark Reyes wraps up 'Voltes V: Legacy: The Cinematic Experience' press tour in Japan
It's a mission accomplished for the Japan press tour of "Voltes V: Legacy: The Cinematic Experience!"
On Instagram, director Mark Reyes shared his journey of participating in the press tour of the live-action remake of the iconic Japanese anime series.
"After two jam-packed days of back-to-back press and media interviews, a town hall lecture, pictorials, video shoots, autograph signing, a courtesy call, dinner socials, meetings, and my favorite toy line inspection, I can finally say it's mission accomplished here in Tokyo!" Mark wrote in the caption.
"From the multiple requests for interviews and high praises for 'Voltes V: Legacy,' I am both humbled and gratified that Japan is warmly and excitedly welcoming back 'Voltes V' to its motherland," he added.
According to Mark, the GMA-produced movie "will be the first Philippine-produced film based on a Japanese anime to be screened in Japan."
During his trip to Tokyo, the director visited the real "Camp Big Falcon," which is the office of TOEI Company in Ginza.
He also thanked the Japanese press members who gave him "awesome gifts" during the press tour, including manga copies and shirts.
"Noteworthy is that retro magazine with Zardos on the cover, which contains a cache of concept drawings of the original 'Voltes V' anime," he said.
The "Voltes V: Legacy: The Cinematic Experience," which has been re-edited and improved, is set to screen in Japanese theaters starting October 18.
