Marian Rivera trends online after gamely translating a question for ‘Superbods 2024’ candidate

Marian Rivera delighted netizens and trended online after she gamely translated a question for a candidate at a recent beauty and fitness competition.

On her Instagram Stories, the Kapuso Primetime Queen shared a screenshot of her name, which landed a spot on X (formerly Twitter)’s trending list.

Marian served as a judge at the Century Tuna Superbods 2024 held in Pasay City on Tuesday night, and after reading out a question, the male candidate kindly asked her if he could also have the question in English.

Putting her game face on, Marian took on the candidate’s request, saying “I will try my best. Are you ready for this? Listen very carefully. Here’s my question" before smoothly translating the question into English.

After translating, Marian said, “I think you understand that,” before laughing and holding out a peace sign.

That's just one of Marian's many endearing moments at the event, where she had a major marehan portion with Kathryn Bernardo that didn't escape the netizens.

During the awarding portion, Marian and Kathryn were spotted having a chikahan moment on stage, whispering and laughing together like the good friends that they are. Kathryn has been vocal about looking up to Kapuso Primetime Queen.

At the back stage, Marian also shared a moment with Pia Wurtzbach, who posted their photo together on Instagram, getting so many netizens excited.

Marian is currently working on her upcoming movie, “Balota,” which follows a land-grabbing tycoon and a former male sexy actor who are locked in a tight race for the mayoral seat of a small town.

Marian will play the role of Emmy, a teacher who serves in the election. Emmy runs into the wilderness with a ballot box, the last copy of the election results, when violence in their town erupts.

It is directed by award-winning filmmaker Kip Oebanda, and will screen at the Cinemalaya Film Festival from August 2 to 11.

Previous photos from the project showed Marian holding a bright yellow ballot box in a school. Her co-star, content creator Sassa Gurl, also shared scenes of a protest and a conversation with Marian.

Marian is fresh from a win at the FAMAS Awards, where she and Dingdong Dantes were the first recipients of the Bida ng Takilya trophies.

She also recently starred in her comeback series, “My Guardian Alien.”
