Barbie Forteza displays acting prowess by crying on the spot

There's no doubt that Barbie Forteza is among the best actors of her generation.

On Friday's "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," Tito Boy asserted that the Kapuso Primetime Princess was, indeed, one of the best actors of her time, to which she replied with a shy thanks.

Tito Boy added that Barbie is also one of the best when it comes to crying scenes, which he said is a talent.

"I think ano po 'yan eh, parang kailangan mo lang talaga maging quiet inside, especially kapag may character ka," Barbie said. "Isipin mo 'yung struggles and 'yung hugot ng character dun sa eksena."

Tito Boy then challenged her to see which of them can cry on the spot first.

Barbie displayed her acting prowess, as she was able to cry on the spot effortlessly in just a few seconds, prompting Tito Boy to ask her how she does it.

"Pagka ganun po kasi parang may something inside me na goes quiet immediately, 'yung parang ikaw lang mag-isa, so parang ang bilis pumasok lahat ng emotions," she said. "Kasi clear ka eh, clean slate ka sa loob, bukas ka, so ang bilis pumasok."

Barbie has been collecting awards and nominations since her early days in the industry. She won a FAMAS award in 2010, a Cinemalaya Best Supporting Actress award in 2014, and nominations from the Gaward Urian Awards in 2015 and 2017, to name a few.

In a guesting on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" last year, Barbie shared that winning awards is the reason why she became an actress and that fame is just a bonus.

"I think 'yung awards kasi parang nakaka-earn ka ng respect din from the people you work with," she said then.

In May this year, she also won the Primetime TV Drama Actress of the Year at the Box Office Entertainment awards for the hit Kapuso series "Maria Clara at Ibarra."

"That Kind of Love," Barbie's latest movie with loveteam partner David Licauco, will be showing in cinemas on July 10. Barbie and David graced the film's premiere night on Thursday.

She is also set to star in the Kapuso family drama "Pulang Araw" as Adelina. Other cast members include David (Hiroshi), Alden Richards (Eduardo), and Sanya Lopez (Teresita). It will also star Dennis Trillo in his first kontrabida role.

"Pulang Araw" is coming to Netflix on July 26 and GMA Prime beginning July 29.
