Barbie Forteza reveals she and David Licauco did not hit it off right away: 'Kasi lagi siyang late!'

Barbie Forteza reveals she and David we not OK initially: 'Kasi lagi siyang late!'

Barbie Forteza appeared on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" and gamely answered questions about her new movie with David Licauco, "That Kind of Love," their friendship, which she characterizes as a slow burn.

"Yung friendship na nabuo ko with David is very — slowly but surely. Dinahan-dahan namin," Barbie said.

Despite their intense chemistry on screen, Barbie revealed she and David didn't hit it off right away.

"Lagi ko naman inaamin sa lahat na, at first, hindi ako OK with him," the Kapuso Primetime Princess told Tito Boy.

When asked why, Barbie gave out a laugh before saying, "kasi lagi siyang lat?!"

Besides, what they needed to do wasn't easy, she added. "Very surprising and very unexpected yung love team namin na thankfully successful," she began.

"Agad-agad, lagi na kaming magkasama, every day magka-trabaho kami. Every day nakakakilig na mga eksena namin. So for two people na hindi naman close, ni hindi nga kami nag-u-usap, biglang ganun, mahirap yun."

Barbie also pointed out how different the two of them are, professionally speaking. They have different work ethic, for one, and follow different work routines. "Magkaibang-magkaiba kami ni David," she emphasized.

Which is why she considers it a blessing that the #BarDa love team completely took off and became successful.

From "Maria Clara at Ibarra" #BarDa has gone on to headline shows like "Maging Sino Ka Man" and now a movie, "That Kind of Love."

Later this month, "Pulang Araw" will premiere.

Barbie credits it all to luck. "Timing has nothing to do with the success of our love team," she said. "Mas more on luck."
