Jennylyn Mercado's manager explains her absence in GMA Station ID: 'She was unavailable that day'

Jennylyn Mercado's manager explains her absence from GMA Station ID: 'She was unavailable that day'

Jennylyn Mercado's manager, Becky Aguila, has addressed the persistent rumors surrounding the actress about network transfers, especially after her absence in the latest GMA Station ID.

On Instagram, Aguila reassured that Jennylyn is and will remain a loyal artist of the GMA Network "for as long as her mother network wants her to stay."

According to the talent manager and founder of Aguila Entertainment, Jennylyn was absent simply because she was "unavailable" during the shoot date of the station ID.

"Rest assured, GMA extended an invitation to her, which we very much appreciate," she said.

The station ID was released last Friday and immediately turned viral. Viewers immediately noticed Jennylyn's absence.

Becky also spoke on behalf of Dennis Trillo, who is facing controversy after he allegedly responded "may ABS pa ba?" on TikTok, where a netizen asked him about Jennylyn transferring networks, following the launch of the station ID.

"It was not him," Aguila said.

"Dennis is very humble and respectful and known to be a man of few words," she added.

Becky further defended Dennis, saying that the Kapuso actor is not the type to "release comments that are insensitive to others most specially to his former colleagues in ABS-CBN, where he was first launched via Star Circle."

"His account was hacked yesterday as what our official statement said," she said.

Jennylyn recently appeared in her comeback project, "Love. Die. Repeat," which premiered early this year. She took some time off from showbiz when she got married to Dennis in 2021 and gave birth to their daughter, Dylan, the following year.

In 2023, Jennylyn announced she is working on a new album, and got fans excited when she posted a photo of her recording session.

Jennylyn and Dennis are set to star in their first movie together after 14 years, titled "Everything About My Wife," which is a romantic comedy and a Philippine adaptation of an Argentinian film.
