FDCP posts Manny Castañeda tribute: 'Ang iyong kontribusyon sa industriya ng Pelikulang Pilipino ay mananatili nakatatak sa aming puso'

News of Manny Castañeda's death took the entertainment industry by surprise on Monday.

Director Joey Reyes shared the sad news on his Facebook page, saying "I do not know how it is going to be without my best friend just sitting out there ready to bitch it out with me."  

Later on social media, the Film Development. Council of the Philippines paid tribute to the late actor-director, saying "Ang iyong kontribusyon sa industriya ng Pelikulang Pilipino ay mananatili nakatatak sa aming puso."

"Lubos na nakikiramay ang Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) sa pamilya at mahal sa buhay ni G. Manny Castañeda - Aktor at Director," the FDCP said.

"Paalam at maraming salamat, Manny," it added.

According to reports, Castañeda died on Sunday. He was 69 years old.

His last project was with GMA Public Affairs' "Makiling."

Castañeda was part of great films like "Oro Plata Mata" and "Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas," and directed movies like "Guwapings Dos," "I Love You Daddy," "Kailanman," and "Sa Kabilugan ng Buwan."
