Bea Alonzo says she and Carla Abellana 'manifested' working together for 'Widows' War': 'We're happy'

Bea Alonzo is all too happy to star in "Widows' War" with Carla Abellana.

In an interview on "Unang Hirit" on Wednesday, the Kapuso star said it's their first time working on a project together.

"Minanifest namin to," Bea said. "Nung nag-guest siya sa vlog ko, talagang kaming dalawa, parang, 'Kailan kaya tayo magkakatrabaho?' And finally it's happening."

"We're happy na ganitong klaseng storya 'yung pagasasamahan namin," she added. "Kung baga 'yung hindi normal na ginagawa namin na drama or love story."

Bea described her character as a "gray character."

"Isa to sa mga characters na gagawin ko sa telebisyon na may twist. 'Yung character hindi siya mabait, hindi rin naman salbahe, its a gray character, human."

Bea and Carla guested on each other's vlogs in February last year. Carla at the time said she would "really be praying for more collabs with [Bea], and even a TV or film project."

"Widows' War" is a spinoff of popular murder-mystery series "Royal Blood" and "Widow's Web." It will be directed by Zig Dulay, the director behind "Maria Clara at Ibarra" and Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2023 Best Picture "Firefly."

Other cast members include Tonton Gutierrez, Mark Herras, Jeric Gonzales, Juancho Triviño, Jackie Lou Blanco, Lito Pimentel, Rita Daniela, Timmy Cruz, Lovely Rivero, James Graham, Charlie Fleming, Matthew Uy, Jean Garcia, and Benjamin Alves. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
