R'Bonney Gabriel runs into Gloria Diaz at fabric shop

The universe just conspired for two iconic queens to meet!

In an Instagram Reel, R’Bonney Gabriel shared her trip to a fabric shop as she is working on her newest collection. Minutes later, she bumped into none other than Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz.

The two Miss Universe queens were able to talk to each other and take photos. R’Bonney also flexed her growing Tagalog skills.

“Tatay ko Filipino at nanay ko American,” R’Bonney told Gloria.

Gloria told Miss Universe 2022, “I’m gonna take a picture and show my BFF.”

Adter the encouter, R’Bonney said, “Just running into Gloria Diaz—the first Miss Universe from the Philippines—here in the fabric store. I don’t even know how to act anymore. I think I’m done shopping."

R’Bonney arrived in the Philippines in April, and will stay “for longer” for modeling, hosting, guestings, and other work engagements.

The first Filipino-American Miss Universe has been exploring her heritage in the Philippines, from eating Pinoy street food, practicing her "tawad" game in Divisoria, riding a jeepney, visiting her dad Remigio’s childhood home in Malate, Manila, and trying her hand at cooking sinigang.
