Sharon Cuneta recreates iconic 'Sakay na!' commercial for Netflix

Sharon Cuneta will forever be the queen of commercials!

The Megastar once again donned her all-red outfit and recreated one of her iconic commercials from the ‘90s: the WG&A Superferry ad. In the commercial, Sharon flew across the Philippines and said her now-classic line, “Sakay na!”

The 2024 version sees Ate Shawie flying across different Philippine destinations to promote the new lineup of Filipino films on Netflix.

The ad begins with Sharon packing food before turning on the TV to pick out a movie. She then flies to the various film sets and hilariously takes part in some of the scenes.

Among the films shown were “Penduko,” “GG The Movie,” “Dearly Beloved,” “Mallari,” “3 Days 2 Nights In Poblacion,” and Sharon’s movie with Alden Richards, “Family of Two.”

Before the ad ends, the text “Lipad na” is flashed onscreen.

“Ilang taon ako sa barko ko na Ferry—paggaling doon di na ako nakabihis, dumerecho na sa Netflix!” Sharon said in her Instagram caption.

Among Sharon’s recent achievements were the reunion concerts with her former on- and off-screen partner, Gabby Concepcion at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Manila and the NUSTAR Convention Center in Cebu.

She previously teased a possible project in the US.
