Alden Richards praises Barbie Forteza for passion, dedication for acting

Alden Richards has nothing but praise for his “Pulang Araw” co-star, Barbie Forteza.

In the highly anticipated drama “Pulang Araw,” the two Kapuso superstars will be playing siblings. Barbie is vaudeville entertainer Adelina, and Alden is her older brother, the charismatic and caring Eduardo.

They have worked together on episodic projects before, but “Pulang Araw” is their first full-time series.

Now that they have spent more time together, Alden told GMA News Online that the Kapuso Primetime Princess is incredibly passionate about acting.

“What I really commend about her is her dedication to the craft and how she makes herself better every project,” Alden said during GMA News Online's set visit in Sampaloc, Manila.

“Ang dali kasi nun eh. As an actor—well, dun sa aking process—mas madali for me na makagawa ng mga eksena with her kasi pareho kami. We both love the craft and at the same time, parang hindi kami nahihirapan gawin ‘yung mga eksena—light man or mabigat—because of, you know, the relationship that we have on- and off-cam,” he added.

Asia’s Multimedia Star also said that they have “a level of comfort with each other” which makes them work well.

In a previous interview, Barbie also shared kind words about Alden as a co-star and long-time friend, and said that he is very caring.

Pulang Araw” traces the intertwined lives of four childhood friends: Adelina (Barbie), Teresita (Sanya Lopez), Hiroshi (David Licauco), and Eduardo (Alden). As war ravages their homeland and Japanese forces occupy the Philippines, their dreams, friendships, and loyalties are tested, leading them on a journey of self-discovery and resilience.

More cast members include Dennis Trillo in his first major kontrabida role, as well as Rhian Ramos.

“Pulang Araw” is coming to Netflix on July 26 and GMA Prime beginning July 29. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
