Xian Lim says he did not initiate breakup with Kim Chiu

Xian Lim revealed that he was not the one who initiated his breakup with Kim Chiu.

On Wednesday's "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," the King of Talk asked the Kapuso actor if he and Kim are still friends now that they have parted ways.

"Of course. Nagulat ako sa tanong. Of course, yes," he said.

Xian said that they haven't talked since their split last year.

"When that night happened, maayos 'yung pag-uusap namin. Of course, merong iyakan, but there was that assurance na we—we went through 12 years, 'di ba? 12 years of our existence, so it has that respect, you know?" he said.

"To be completely honest, I wasn't the one who engaged in the separation. 'Yun lang po siya. It's that simple," he added. "I wasn't the one who initiated the breakup."

Xian acknowledged that their fans felt betrayed and angry, especially at him, but he said that his record is "clean."

"I think the length of [the relationship] speaks for itself and 'yung mga pambabatikos sa 'kin ng karamihan, I think they should just look at it from a lens na for more than a decade, I never had—my record is clean, and I'm proud of that. You're not gonna see me in places you're not supposed to see me, you know?" he said.

"The time speaks for itself. It's just sad na maraming intriga na lumalabas, especially against me," he added.

He also said that he doesn't want to make it look like he's making noise for the promotion of his film, "Playtime."

Xian and Kim confirmed their split in December of last year. The former couple did not reveal the reason for the end of their 12-year relationship.

Rumors of their breakup started circulating in November, prompting Xian to issue a statement.

In a magazine interview last month, Xian confirmed that he is dating film producer Iris Lee but clarified that they only started dating after his breakup with Kim.

In an interview with GMA Integrated News, Xian also said he does not deserve the false accusations being made against him following their split.
