Barbie Forteza recited a poem about loving and fighting for the Philippines on Independence Day, and she gave everybody goosebumps.

On YouTube, GMA Network posted a video titled, “Ipaglaban ang ating Inang Bayan,” where the Kapuso Primetime Princess is dressed in a floral 1940s-inspired dress and accessories.

The video starts with Barbie writing in a diary, before speaking about a lover who is always there for her, her caring parents who've taught her countless lessons, and finally her country.

In tears, Barbie expressed her anger at what the country has been through from the powerful, and how she is willing to offer her life for the true freedom.

The award-winning actress showed her range and skills in the one-minute and 30-second video. After its posting, fans commended the actress for her work.
