Barbie Forteza and David Licauco on starring in 'Pulang Araw': 'Reunited and it feels so good'
Barbie Forteza and David Licauco are nothing but delighted to be working on a new project together.
During GMA News Online’s set visit to the “Pulang Araw” set in Sampaloc, Manila, the Pambansang Ginoo said that BarDa has “reunited and it feels so good.”
“Hopefully, nandun pa rin yung chemistry na nagustuhan ng mga tao," David added.
Meanwhile, Barbie is simply happy to work with David on different genres and diverse characters following the success of their loveteam on “Maria Clara at Ibarra” and “Maging Sino Ka Man."
“I always see him in a different light, so ang saya,” Barbie said.
She added that the way they approach and create characters is always new.
“Ako naman, hindi ko naman siya tinatanong kung papaano niya binubuo ‘yung character. Nakikita ko nalang pag magkaeksena kami,” she said. “Pag nagkakaeksena kami, parang naiintindihan ko na, ah okay, so ganun pala niya ginawa. So dun ko matitimpla naman how I will approach his character as Adelina.”
In the highly anticipated drama “Pulang Araw,” Barbie plays vaudeville star Adelina and David is Japanese migrant Hiroshi.
“Pulang Araw” traces the intertwined lives of four childhood friends: Adelina (Barbie), Teresita (Sanya Lopez), Hiroshi (David), and Eduardo (Alden Richards). As war ravages their homeland and Japanese forces occupy the Philippines, their dreams, friendships, and loyalties are tested, leading them on a journey of self-discovery and resilience.
More cast members include Dennis Trillo in his first major kontrabida role, as well as Rhian Ramos.
“Pulang Araw,” is coming to Netflix on July 26 and GMA Prime beginning July 29. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
