How did Pilar Pilapil respond to Bob Barker when he asked her during Miss Universe 1967: 'Are you really 18?'

Pilar Pilapil guested on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" Wednesday and immediately the King of Talk launched about her famous encounter with Bob Barker in Miami Florida, during her stint in the Miss Universe.

"I remember that," Pilar said. "I said, 'what do you think?'"

The veteran actress represented the Philippines in the 1967 Miss Universe Pageant in Miami Florida, and according to the actress, her encounter with Bob took place during one of their rehearsal nights.

"There were many nights of rehearsals and there was one night, he stared at me and said, 'Ms. Philippines, are you really 18?'"

"And I said, 'what do you think?' And he smiled and then I went."

Pilar recalled she didn't really think of winning back then. "I was not a full grown woman. I was just a kid. I was a young girl," she told Tito Boy.

At that time, Pilar was only 16 years old, and she recalled how she "was surrounded by beautiful women and some gentlemen, who were eyeing us around. it was quite an experience but as a young girl, it was quite overwhelming."

Ms. USA Sylvia Hitchcock took home the Miss Universe crown that year, incidentally the first year that Bob Barker hosted the beauty pageant.
