Sheryl Cruz reveals Anjo Yllana proposed to her when they were younger

Sheryl Cruz revealed that she and Anjo Yllana got engaged back in the day.

On Thursday's episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," the actress said that Anjo proposed to her before she flew to the United States, where she first met her ex-husband, Norman Bustos.

"Actually, nagtampo ako sa kaniya noon because he was actually—he asked for my hand in marriage that time before I left for the States and decided to actually try it there," she said.

"He asked for my hand in marriage, and I said yes," Sheryl continued. "And then I found out na he got somebody pregnant, so kahit papaano 'di ba he broke my heart."

Sheryl said that what happened in the past is already "water under the bridge." She and Anjo remain good friends today.

"It was actually amazing because by the time I went back here sa Philippines, I, myself, got separated and divorced 'di ba 'yung ganiyan. And then nagkaroon kami ng moment wherein we were able to see each other again and we were able to catch up on things and tried to I guess have another go at it," she said, adding that she admires Anjo for being a good father.

"Ayos naman 'yung mga anak niya, 'yung ganoon. Same thing naman for me 'di ba? If you really didn't quite work out with your relationship, then it doesn't mean that you cannot be a good parent," she said.

The actress currently stars in "Lilet Matias: Attorney-At-Law." It airs weekdays at 3:20 p.m. on GMA Afternoon Prime.
