Angeli Khang no stranger to action scenes thanks to black belt in taekwondo
Angeli Khang may find the fight scenes in "Black Rider" challenging to shoot, but she's no stranger to action.
Angeli plays Nimfa in "Black Rider" alongside Primetime Action Hero Ruru Madrid, who stars as Elias in the series. She is the latest star to join the cast.
According to an interview with Lhar Santiago on "24 Oras's" Chika Minute, Monday, the Vivamax A-list actress took up taekwondo when she was a child. She, in fact, held a black belt in the sport, so she's able to use her taekwondo skills for the role.
"'Yung sa action, ibang genre naman. 'Yun lang talaga 'yung challenging, nakakapagod. Matagal din pala kapag nag-sh-shoot sa isang action scene," she said.
"Nag-taekwondo ako nu'ng 11 years old ako, black belter. Thankful ako na pina-taekwondo ako ng dad ko, magagamit ko naman 'yung taekwondo skills ko, 'yung sport ko."
Angeli is also thankful for the opportunity to do an action-drama project and take a break from sexy roles.
"I'm so happy, my heart is very full, I feel blessed and honored na tinrust ako ng GMA, also Viva, na gampanan 'tong karakter na to," she said.
"As much as possible, I want to switch my genre to na kahit saan ako ilagay, kahit sa action, drama, comedy o ano man 'yan, kaya kong gawin as an artist."
