KC Montero helps Geneva Cruz find new love through 'EXpecially For You'
Geneva Cruz is giving love another try as she appeared on the “It’s Showtime” segment, “EXpecially For You,” accompanied by none other than her ex-husband, KC Montero.
As soon as the segment started, Geneva was already in tears.
“Kasi may pictures doon,” she said, quipping that KC still had hair in the throwback photos.
“I’m actually happy na ginawa namin ‘to. Medyo nagdalawang isip din ako nung umiyak na ako, sabi ko, ‘Eto na nga. Iyakin talaga,’” she added. “But I’m really happy na magkasama kami ngayon ‘cause it’s been awhile.”
Before their appearance on the noontime show, Geneva and KC last saw each other three years ago for taping.
Geneva and KC’s love story
Geneva was 24 years old and KC was 23 years old when they first met each other.
“Naghiwalay kami ni Paco [Arespacochaga]. On-going ‘yung annulment and I met him. Siguro mga four months later, kasama ko ‘yung mga kaibigan ko, and then sa isang club sa Quezon City, ayon,” Geneva recalled. “He was this cool dude na from the States na friendly.”
“Sobrang gwapo. I mean, ‘yung dating niya, ‘di ba?” she added, admitting that she was already attracted to KC when she saw him.
After their interaction, they started messaging each other.
They saw each other again at “SOP.”
“Aliw na aliw ako sa kanya. ‘Yung talent niya, parang ‘Wow!’” KC said.
Geneva said that KC’s good relationship with her son, Heaven, made her fall for him more.
They soon got married and were together for 10 years before they called it quits.
“Nagkaroon ng problem talaga when I started working here again. We lived in the States, he followed me, and nagkaroon ng problem na nung physically, nagkaroon ng distance,” Geneva said.
The former couple remained good friends following their divorce.
The searchees
During the segment, three candidates were introduced: Eddie from Cebu, Doc Al from Cavite, and Turkish-Persian Sammy.
In the end, both KC and Geneva chose Eddie.
Before the segment ended, KC told Geneva, “Maraming salamat sa panahon natin. For all of the time, the years that we spent together. I’m a firm believer na your past creates your future. And feeling ko, without the time that we had together, wala akong Stephanie, wala akong Wyatt. Ikaw din, walang London.”
“Thank you so much sa time and for the love and for the experience and everything,” he added.
Geneva failed in holding her tears back again and thanked KC for his “unconditional love.”
“Thank you very much for loving my son,” she said. “Sana magka-baby pa kayo and sana lagi kang maging masaya.”
KC is now married to Stephanie Dods. They had an intimate civil wedding ceremony in Seattle, Washington in 2019.
