‘Queen of Tears’ to air special episodes in May following its resounding success

The “Queen of Tears” fever isn’t going to end just yet.

Following the success of the hit K-Drama series, “Queen of Tears” is set to air two special episodes on the first weekend of May, as announced by tvN on Instagram.

Dubbed “Queen of Tears: Miraculous Recordzip,” the special episodes are set to air on May 4 and 5 on tvN, 9:20 p.m. KST.

“BaekHong couple who endured all crises and created a miracle,” tvN said in the caption.

“Both the Queens family and the Yongduri family have a happy ending,” it added. “Thank you to all the viewers who loved us.”

There are no announcements yet if the said episodes will be aired on Netflix. GMA News Online has reached out to the streaming giant to ask if the special episodes will be streamed in the Philippines but has yet to receive a reply as of posting.

Queen of Tears” had a record-breaking viewership rating for its finale episode which aired on Sunday night. It registered a whopping rating of 24.850%, dethroning “Crash Landing on You” in the number one spot, which garnered 21.683% in February 2020.

Top-billed by Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won, “Queen of Tears” also made history as the “most-watched program of any kind” in South Korea on Saturday for episode 15.

"Queen of Tears" follows the story of Hong Hae In (Ji Won), a third-generation chaebol heiress of Queens Group, and her husband Baek Hyun Woo (Soo Hyun), a lawyer and the legal director of the company. The couple is on the brink of divorce.
