Elle Villanueva, Derrick Monasterio turn sentimental ahead of 'Makiling' finale week

Elle Villanueva and Derrick Monasterio's well-loved revenge drama, "Makiling," is set to air its final episodes next week.

In an online media conference on Thursday, the lead stars looked back on their project's success and the lessons they learned from it.

"From my experience, it takes a good team and cooperation talaga to make a great series," Elle said.

"Nakita po kasi namin na lahat ng tao dito, passionate sa ginagawa nila kaya siguro napakaganda ng resulta," she added.

Elle said that she will miss everything about her character, Amira.

"Mami-miss ko na sobrang pinapakinggan niya 'yung puso niya palagi at 'yung pagiging malapit niya sa pamilya niya," she said.

Elle recalled that Amira always stood up for herself.

"Mami-miss ko talaga 'yung character niya kasi siya 'yung paborito kong character na pinlay ko ever," she said.

Derrick also gave credit to the team behind the cameras.

"Marunong silang pakinggan 'yung mga ideas din namin which never kong na-experience sa mga past shows ko," he said. "And 'yun nga, ang pinakamami-miss ko dito is 'yung mga lessons na naituro sa 'kin nito personally."

"This team makes us great actors, makes us great people. Ang masasabi ko lang ay nakaka-miss itong prod na 'to, itong team na 'to. Iba 'yung dating," he continued.

"Makiling" marked the real-life couple's return to GMA Afternoon Prime following "Return to Paradise."

Other cast members include Thea Tolentino, Myrtle Sarrosa, Claire Castro, Kristoffer Martin, Teejay Marquez, and Royce Cabrera.

"Makiling" will begin its finale week on April 29 at 4:05 p.m.
