Pia Wurtzbach to receive Global Fashion Influencer of The Year award at the EMIGALA Awards 2024
From conquering the universe to dominating the fashion world, Pia Wurtzbach is unstoppable!
The Miss Universe 2015 is set to receive the Global Fashion Influencer of The Year recognition for this year’s EMIGALA Fashion & Beauty Awards.
The announcement came from the award-giving body’s official Instagram account.
The EMIGALA Awards 2024 is set to take place at Dubai Festival City Mall on April 27 and 28, at 6 p.m. (GST).
Now in its fourth edition, the EMIGALA Awards honors “various members and contributors to the fashion and beauty industries, both regionally and globally.”
Among the EMIGALA Awards’ past awardees include Filipino fashion designers Michael Cinco and Furne Amato. Michael was awarded Fashion Designer of the Year while Furne took home the International Fashion Designer of the Year, both in 2021.
The recognition follows Pia being named by two data agencies, Lefty and Launchmetrics, as among the celebrities who generated the highest media values in the recent Milan Fashion Week.
Despite the backlash Pia has received for venturing into fashion, the beauty queen-turned-fashionista said nothing fuels her more than “negativities, bashers, naysayers, and people who diminish” her efforts and worth.
"The more you tell me no, the more I'm going to try to prove you wrong," she said. "Don't tell me I can't do something because that is the sure way for me to try to make it happen."
