In an interview with GMA Integrated News TV host and report Lyn Ching-Pascual, Ryohei revealed actually helped in writing the script of the movie adaptation.

“I decided to join the team not only as an actor, but also as a kind of adviser, and as a representative of the fans. So we made the script together and that was a great process of making [the movie],” he said.

According Ryohei, he’s been a fan of the series for “more than thirty years.”

“Well, I was a huge fan. I’ve live all my life admiring him for more than thirty years,” he said, adding that he first “fell in love” with City Hunter after seeing the animation on TV.

From there, Ryohei started collecting its comic books and every book related to “City “Hunter. He also revealed that the first-ever CD he bought was the soundtrack of the animated series.

“City Hunter” is based on the popular manga series by Tsukasa Hojo. The film takes place in modern-day Shinjuku, Tokyo, and explores the origin story of Ryo Saeba, a private detective with a weakness for beautiful women.
