'Pulang Araw' star Alden Richards delivers emotional poem on Araw ng Kagitingan

Alden Richards delivered an emotional poem about fighting for one's country on Araw ng Kagitingan, a special message from upcoming Kapuso series "Pulang Araw."

In the video, Alden is seen in the foreground wearing a khaki jacket while in the background are scenes from Philippine history and the present-day struggles of Filipinos.

Towards the end of the video, the Asia's Multimedia Star is seen waving the Philippine flag in a balcony.

The poem contains the lines, "Kahit umabot pa ang lahat sa kamatayan, lagi't laging ipaglalaban kita hanggang sa ang karapatan mo'y 'di na maapakan pa, hanggang sa makamit mo ang tunay na kalayaang inaasam. Ipaglalaban kita."

Alden is set to play a half-American Eduardo Dela Cruz in "Pulang Araw." He is the half-brother of bodabil star Adelina, who will be played by Barbie Forteza.

The series also stars Sanya Lopez, who will play Adelina's half-sister and fellow bodabil star Teresita; David Licauco, who will play a Japanese soldier named Hiroshi; and Dennis Trillo, who will play a Japanese army officer.

Other cast members include Ashley Ortega, Angelu De Leon, Epy Quizon, Mikoy Morales, and Aidan Veneracion.
