Marina Summers asks fans to stop the hate after 'Drag Race: UK vs. The World' stint
Marina Summers may have failed to take home the crown from “Drag Race: UK vs. The World” Season 2, but she is nothing but proud of herself following the recently concluded show.
On Instagram, the 27-year-old drag artist addressed the ongoing hate that is making the rounds on social media, with some saying that “she was robbed” of winning.
“Let’s place all our energy to the right direction,” she said. “Let’s make this experience good for everyone.”
“Let’s be a better community that upholds love and pride for all our drag artists. Let us not foster hate, instead, let us help love flourish,” she added.
In her post, Marina shared photos of her outfit from the finale runway with the category “Finale Eleganza Extravaganza.”
Along with her gorgeous portraits is a lengthy caption of thanks to everyone who helped in her international drag pageant journey.
“I have crossed the oceans to be where I am now. And it has been one of the most life-changing things that has happened to me,” Marina wrote.
“I am forever grateful for this opportunity to share Marina and the beauty of my country to all of you,” she added.
Marina also acknowledged her core team, the Camp Summers, for being the backbone of all her runway looks and training before the show.
She also gave special shoutouts to Filipino designers, craftsmen, hairstylists, writers, comedians, improv artists, songwriters, producers, and all the creatives who collaborated with her to make her visions come to life.
Most significantly, she thanked her fans for their overflowing support during the entire run of “Drag Race: UK vs. The World.”
Marina finished in the Top 4 of the show. She was the only Asian contestant this season, and she showcased Filipino culture throughout.
She was also a frontrunner, having won three badges in the first six episodes.
Previously, she competed in the first season of “Drag Race Philippines,” where she was the runner-up.
