SB19’s Pablo is Earth Hour 2024 music ambassador

SB19 member Pablo has been named as the music ambassador for Earth Hour 2024.

On social media, World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines announced the ambassadorship of the SB19 leader.

He will be the main guest of the annual Earth Hour event in Manila City on March 23, Saturday.

In a statement, Earth Hour Philippines National Director Angela Consuelo Ibay said that Pablo “represents the passion and resilience of Filipinos.”

“Pablo, for us, represents the passion and resilience of Filipinos, and we want these qualities to be front and center for the annual Earth Hour celebration, which will be the 16th anniversary in the Philippines,” she said.

“As SB19’s songwriter, creative director, and CEO of their label, Pablo has masterfully infused his music with Filipino culture, flavor, and style. Earth Hour is a global grassroots movement for the environment and we celebrate it in our own unique Filipino way. Pablo is the perfect ambassador for Earth Hour,” Ibay added.

On Facebook, Pablo shared the post and said: “Together, let’s create the biggest hour for earth.”

For its 16th anniversary, the annual Earth Hour celebration will be held at the Kartilya ng Katipunan, beside the Manila City Hall from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Earth Hour is a global grassroots movement uniting people to take action on environmental issues and protect the planet by switching off lights for one hour.

The annual switch-off event is an initiative of WWF which started as a lights-out event in Sydney, Australia, in 2007.

Since then, it has grown into a global grassroots movement, engaging millions of supporters in more than 185 countries and territories, inspiring individuals and organizations worldwide to take action for the environment, and driving major legislative changes by harnessing the power of the crowd.

The Philippines joined in 2008, making this year’s Earth Hour the fifteenth time the celebration is observed.
