Lola Amour on Coldplay, BamBam, ENHYPEN being fans of their music: 'It doesn't feel real'
Lola Amour is over the moon at the fact that international artists are also fans of their music.
The band talked more about what it was like for Coldplay to perform “Raining in Manila,” as well as BamBam and ENHYPEN being fans of their mega-hit at the listening party of their upcoming debut album in Makati City.
“That part doesn’t feel real,” vocalist Pio Dumayas answered GMA News Online.
“Buong buhay namin, Pilipinas lang naman 'yung mundo namin,” he added. “It doesn't feel real because these are people that we only see on social media, on TV, or listen to their music. So parang for them, for these people don't feel real to acknowledge you as a real person or as a real artist, it's hard to accept as reality,” he added.
When the band joined Coldplay on stage for their concert at the Philippine Arena last January, they also said that the experience “was really cool” and that Chris Martin is the kindest guy.
“Coldplay, syempre, bata palang kami, di pa kami marunong tumugtog ng kahit anong instrument, naririnig na namin 'yung mga songs ng Coldplay. So it was really cool to actually meet the people who made these songs, for them to acknowledge us and for them to actually want to play a song that we made,” Pio said.
“For the brief times that we were able to hang out with [Chris], he was a really nice person and he’s a very warm person. He was very welcoming. No awkwardness eh, iba talaga,” he added.
Keyboardist David Yuhico said that what he finds cool was Chris Martin speaking Tagalog, "and it’s our song."
“Like he was just rehearsing and he was playing the song on the piano, and he was singing the song in Tagalog. I was like, ‘what?’” David said.
Lola Amour will be releasing their self-titled debut studio album on April 10. The nine-track album has the previously released tracks, “Raining in Manila” and “Namimiss Ko Na.”
Along with the announcement, they also shared that a two-stop album launch is in the works. The first stop will be at Circuit Event Grounds on April 13, followed by a trip to Draft Punk, Cebu on April 27.
The band went on tour across the Philippines in 2023 in support of “Raining in Manila.”
