Donita Rose on calling her ex-husband 'hayop': 'I was just trying to actually make it lighter at that time'

Donita Rose is back in the country, and on Tuesday, she got to sit in for an interview once again with Boy Abunda.

On Tuesday's episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," Donita recalled a previous interview with the King of Talk, where she was asked about her ex-husband, Eric Villarama.

"I was promoting a movie, and then kinakabahan ako, kakahiwalay [ko lang] noon. And then you said, 'Donita, the first question, have you forgiven him?'" she said.

"Tapos naramdaman ko 'yung ano, 'yung kung ano 'yung nasa loob," Donita continued, imitating the sound of a pounding heart. "Gumagano'n siya ng palakas nang palakas"

She said she prayed and asked for a "witty" response.

"Sabi ko, 'Lord, bigyan mo ako ng medyo witty na response para hindi masyadong dramatic.' Tapos sabi ko, ''Wag kang mag-alala, Tito Boy. Pinatawad ko na 'yung hayop na 'yan,'" she said.

Donita said she felt relieved when Tito Boy laughed. However, "Nagalit 'yung family niya. So, I mean, hindi na po siya hayop. Pasensya na."

"There was a time when he did tell me to make a public apology for saying that, and I did when I was being interviewed on social media and stuff," she said. But, you know, once and for all, I'm truly sorry. When I said that, it wasn't because I wanted to shame the other person, I was just trying to actually make it lighter at that time."

Donita and Eric got married in 2003 but divorced in 2016.

At the height of the pandemic in 2020, Donita flew to the US and landed a job as a corporate chef for a US-based Filipino supermarket chain.

In 2022, Donita confirmed her relationship with Felson Palad and later announced their engagement. Donita and Felson got married in September of the same year.
