Claudine Barretto in 'unbearable pain' after loss of close friend Jaclyn Jose: 'Ang sakit sakit, Nay'
Claudine Barretto is in "unbearable pain" as she grieves the death of her co-star and close friend, Jaclyn Jose.
Calling her Nanay Jane, Claudine said on Instagram that "everything is painful.”
In her post, the actress shared on Instagram that she and Jaclyn lived only 11 houses away from each other.
“I will miss you coming up to my room, tulog ako, tatabihan mo ako. Pag nagising ako, sasabihin mo, ‘anak, na-miss ka lang ni nanay,’” Claudine said, and added that Jaclyn would not leave her until she gets to sleep.
The “Lovers and Liars” star added that when she was going through something, she would head straight to Jaclyn’s home. Jaclyn would likewise be there for her when she knew something was wrong.
“Didiretso ako sa room mo at tatabihan kita,” Claudine said. “Yayakapin mo ako nang mahigpit, kakantahan, at patatahanin.”
She added that by the next day, Claudine would wake up to hot soup from Jaclyn’s helper.
“Galit ako kasi three months na kita di dinadalaw. Ayoko mag isa ka,” she said.
“Nay, tulungan mo ako please. I love you sobra, nay. Ang ilap ng tadhana para sa atin dalawa. Ang sakit sakit, nay. Miss na miss kita. I’m sorry di kita naramdaman gaya nang dati,” Claudine added. “Mahal na mahal kita, nay.”
Claudine and Jaclyn starred in the primetime drama series “Mula sa Puso,” which aired from 1997 to 1999.
Born Mary Jane Guck, Jaclyn died on March 2 at 60 years old. Her daughter, Andi Eigenmann, said that she died due to a heart attack.
Jaclyn’s death was first announced by her agency, PPL Entertainment. Her family, through the Philippine National Police, also previously said that there was no foul play involved.
In 2016, Jose won Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival for her mesmerizing performance in Brillante Mendoza's "Ma'Rosa."
Jose's other notable performances include starring and supporting roles in films such as "The Flor Contemplacion Story" and "Patay Na Si Hesus.” She also starred in several GMA Network series, including "Marimar," "The Millionaire's Wife," and "D'Originals."
Celebrities and industry colleagues are mourning the award-winning actress and have paid tribute to her on social media.
